My view: Swift is the best example of knowing your audience. She writes songs people feel attached to, she talks directly to her fans, and she has turned that connection into something massive. The business moves are just as interesting as the music. Re-recording her old albums, controlling her catalog, filling stadiums on every continent. Love her music or not, she understands the game better than almost anyone. The discourse around her is a mix of real fans, haters, and people who just like watching the numbers. I do not have a hot take on her songs. I just think it is fun to watch someone run the whole industry and make it look easy.
